Beta software, provided as-is

Oris is in public beta. It is provided as-is and as-available, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. It may contain bugs, it may behave unexpectedly, and it may change or be discontinued at any time.

Your recordings and notes are your responsibility. Oris writes to your own machine and your own notes, and things can go wrong: a failed recording, a partial transcript, a summary that doesn't generate. Keep your own backups of anything you care about. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost or corrupted recordings, transcripts, notes, or other data.

Your license to use Oris

You may use Oris for your own personal or business purposes. In return, please don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, and don't redistribute or resell it. Keeping those two things off the table is what lets us ship freely; everything else is fair game.

An Oris Pro license is for one person, and you can use it on all of your own Macs, with no limit on how many. It is personal and can't be transferred to anyone else. If you change your email address, email us at [email protected] and we'll move your license to your new address.

Paying for Oris Pro

Everything outside Pro is free and needs no signup. Pro is free while Oris is in beta. Signing up takes an email address, with no card and no payment. When pricing starts, everyone who signed up during the beta gets three months on us before the first charge. We have not set a date for that.

Who you buy from. Paddle sells Oris Pro as our merchant of record. Paddle is the seller on your receipt and on your card statement, and Paddle's own checkout terms apply to the purchase alongside these. Bundle, LLC is the supplier behind Paddle. It is the company behind Oris, and it signs the Oris app.

Price. Pro comes as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Checkout shows each price before you pay. Paddle calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT for where you are, and it appears on your receipt.

Lifetime means one payment, no renewal, and Pro for as long as Oris exists, including future Pro features.

Your receipt comes from Paddle and carries your purchase details and nothing else. It contains no note, no transcript, and no audio, because we never have any of those. If a charge looks wrong, email us before disputing it with your bank. A refund is faster than a chargeback.

Refunds and cancellations

Refunds within 14 days. If Pro isn't for you, ask within that window and you get your money back, no questions asked. The 14 days run from your first purchase and from each yearly renewal. Monthly renewals aren't refundable; you can cancel instead. Ask through Paddle, using the link on your receipt or at paddle.net, or email [email protected]. After a refund, your Pro license ends. Everything you made stays yours. Your notes are untouched, Oris keeps your custom templates, and new notes go back to the standard summary that the free product has always produced.

Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Paddle's customer portal, linked from your receipt or at paddle.net. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, and Paddle charges nothing after that.

When Pro stops. Oris checks your license daily. After a refund or a chargeback, Pro stops at the next check. A cancelled subscription ends with the period you paid for. A subscription keeps working for up to 30 days past its paid period while a payment is being retried or your Mac is offline.

Acceptable use

Use Oris lawfully. Recording laws vary by place, and some require the consent of everyone in a conversation. Whether and how you record is your call and your responsibility; Oris is a tool, and using it legally and ethically is up to you.

Your content is yours

You own everything Oris produces for you: your recordings, transcripts, and notes. They live on your Mac and in your own notes. We claim no rights over them, and we never receive a copy.

Our intellectual property

Oris, including the app and its underlying software, is owned by Bundle, LLC. These terms don't transfer any ownership of the software to you, only the permission to use it described above.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bundle, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Oris, including lost data, lost profits, or business interruption. Oris is beta software, and you use it at your own risk.

Termination

You can stop using Oris and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or discontinue Oris, or any part of it, at any time; it's beta, and the shape of the product will keep changing.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these terms

As Oris grows, these terms may change. When they do, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
